Can You Put Your Pc On Carpet

My current pc sits on the carpet under my desk without issue however from what i can see my new machine has a case and psu with vents underneath so sitting it on the carpet is probably not a bright idea.

Can you put your pc on carpet.

Of course if you have short carpet on your floor the pc may be able to sit on that carpet with plenty of airflow underneath. Can you put a pc tower on carpet. You should clean your pc regularly anyway so it shouldn t be an issue. A good pc caddy can elevate both your computer.

Sure you can it s fine. Most tower units are designed to be floor mounted but those with feet are. But better safe than. Is there something better than a piece of wood which you can sit a pc on some kind of.

I m assuming you are talking about a tower pc as i doubt anyone would be stupid enough to put a laptop on a carpet. Level 1 1 point 7 years ago it shouldn t be a serious problem. It s bad even if air doesn t flow into or out of the case here however if your pc sinks into the carpet a bit heat can build up underneath due to the lack of airflow. Keeping your pc on the floor is widely considered the worst place due to the amount of dust and pet hair that can get inside your tower especially on any type of solid flooring.

And your computer well it s a giant vacuum cleaner. We can t all get our towers onto the desk like our favorite youtubers but that doesn t mean you need to let your poor pc languish on the carpet sucking in all that dust directly. But carpets are really good at trapping dust pet hair and all manner of other things. Dust and shit is the only issue.

If you don t then a carpet isn t a good idea.
